WhatsApp users can now hide ‘last seen at’, profile picture, status updates on Android
Now hide from unwanted contacts

WhatsApp seems to have a nice little surprise for its Android users after being acquired by Facebook for a hefty sum of $19 billion. You can now disable your “last seen at” status on Android, just like you could on iOS. The feature is currently only available on the WhatsApp apk that is available on the website.
We were tipped off by Twitter user @NotPriyanka, who discovered that the privacy setting Android users had been waiting for was finally here. Not only can you hide your “last seen at” timestamp from your friends and from strangers, you can also hide your profile picture and status message too.
What’s more interesting is that unlike on iOS, you can switch freely between the visible and invisible status, without having to wait for 24 hours for the changes to reflect. On iOS, if you do wish to switch your timestamp off, you cannot change your mind and toggle for another day, till the changes are in place.
You can also hide your profile picture and your status

The ability to hide profile pictures and status messages are also a nice touch by WhatsApp. You cannot make these changes to your settings in iOS, but you can do so now on Android. However, if you do wish to hide your picture, status or timestamp, either you need to choose to turn it off for just strangers, or only from your contacts. You cannot choose to hide from only a handful of your contacts.
Mind you, this privacy feature is not available on the Play Store version of WhatsApp yet, but you will need to download and install the app all over again from the website using an apk file. This also shows that the feature is not available to everyone right now and WhatsApp could just well change its mind and withdraw it at any time. Before you hastily uninstall the version on your phone and install the one from the apk, be warned that you should always back your chats up.
Once you have installed the new version of WhatsApp, you can find the new privacy tab in Settings and then Account Settings.

How quickly will Google ads start appearing on my site?

All new AdSense for content publishers must complete a two-step application approval process. This approval process only applies to AdSense for content applicants. If you're monetizing with a different product (e.g., AdSense for search, mobile, video, games, etc.) you won't be subject to this two-step approval process.
Here's how the two-step approval process works:

Step 1. We conduct preliminary checks on your site and your details

For the first step, we make preliminary checks on the information that you submitted in your application. This can take up to a few hours. Once we've finished, we notify you by email to let you know whether your application has progressed to the second step of the review process.

Step 2. You place the ad code on your site and we complete our review

Once your application has successfully passed the first step, you need to place the ad code on your submitted site. It’s essential at this stage for you to place the ad code on your site, as the review process can’t be completed until the ad code is implemented. For help getting started with ad code, please visit the AdSense Academy.
Note that live ads won’t immediately appear once you've place the ad code on your site. Until your application has been fully approved, temporary “blank ads” will be shown instead. These blank ads will blend in with the background of the page, so users won’t see them and the user experience won’t be impacted. During this time you won’t be generating earnings and if you sign in to your account you’ll see a red alert banner stating your account is still under review. This review period also gives us the opportunity to crawl your site and add it to our index so we can start serving ads as soon as you’re fully approved.
After you’ve implemented your ad code and we’ve completed our review of your site, we'll make a final decision on your application. This process can take up to several days to complete, so please bear with us while we complete all the necessary checks. We'll send you an email as soon as we've made our decision. If you're approved, live ads will automatically start to show in the ad units you've placed on your site.

    Creating new files

Google Drive gives you access to a suite of tools that allows you to create and edit a variety of files, includingdocumentsspreadsheets, and presentations. There are five types of files you can create on Google Drive:
    •  Documents: For composing letters, flyers, essays, and other text-based files (similar to Microsoft Word documents)
    •  Spreadsheets: For storing and organizing information (similar to Microsoft Excel workbooks)
    •  Presentations: For creating slideshows (similar to Microsoft PowerPoint presentations)
    •  Forms: For collecting and organizing data
    •  Drawings: For creating simple vector graphics or diagrams
The process for creating new files is the same for all file types.

    To create a new file:

    1. From Google Drive, locate and select the New button, then choose the type of file you want to create. In our example, we'll select Google Docs to create a new document.

    2. Your new file will appear in a new tab on your browser. Locate and select Untitled document in the upper-left corner.

    3. The Rename dialog box will appear. Type a name for your file, then click OK.

    4. Your file will be renamed. You can access the file at any time from your Google Drive, where it will be savedautomatically. Simply double-click to open the file again.

You may notice that there is no Save button for your files. This is because Google Drive uses autosave, which automatically and immediately saves your files as you edit them.

    Using templates

template is a predesigned file you can use to quickly create new documents. Templates often include custom formatting and designs, so they can save you a lot of time and effort when starting a new project. Most templates are designed to help you create specific types of files. For instance, you could use a template to quickly create aresume or newsletter.

You can find a wide selection of templates on the Google Drive Template Gallery. Unfortunately, we've found that many of these templates aren't very well designed, and it's often difficult to find specific templates within the gallery. For this reason, we recommend using templates made by Google, which tend to be of higher quality than user-submitted templates.

To use an official Google template:

    1. Navigate to Templates submitted by Google.

    2. Several templates will appear. You can then browse templates by category or use the search bar to find something more specific.

    3. When you've found a template you want to use, click Use this template. You can also click Preview to view it first.

    4. A new file will be created with the selected template. You can then customize the file with your own information.

      2. Rename the untitled file.
      3. Try going back to your Google Drive to see that your new file has been added.
